As we approach 2008, when Liverpool becomes the European
capital of culture, all arts continues to grow in its development
and support
of our many various artistic and cultural differences.
On the next few pages you'll learn about all
arts and the many links we have with community arts, performing
arts, music and singing,
variety and entertainment and the arts in general.
Out of eight original art fora set up in Liverpool
in and around 1998, we are the very last one standing. This has
not been easy
as we have had to try and come up with new ideas to meet our competition
and as we grow closer to 2008, we are seeing more and more groups
setting up. This is no bad thing but we need to see a greater
co-operation and collaboration between the different organisations
and the various art forms.
We have been able to continue due to three things: 1) a sheer determination
to succeed; 2) a need for a group such as ours to build bridges
and fill gaps in the provision of art and 3) support from our
many wonderful partners, in particular the desire from the children
we have worked with to enjoy the arts.
A prayer to the Patron Saint of the Arts
Dear St Luke,
As patron saint of the arts and artists, we ask you, and those Saints linked with the arts, such as St Cecelia, Patron of Music, to help us to be more creative in our lives, to encourage a greater involvement in the arts and acceptance of them, and a greater unity of the various art forms and organisations.
We make this prayer, through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen!
