hope street regenerates the cultural life of
Merseyside by providing creative opportunities that increase
the quality and variety of
work within the community and for emerging and professional artists
regionally, nationally and internationally.
For the past 16 years, hope street has played
a major role in the development of physical theatre in the NW
and intends to continue
to play its part in creating a new generation of theatre makers
through its forthcoming activities, not least through the grade
one rated Theatre, Culture & Communities Programme, which provides
opportunities for local artists to train locally with the best
theatre companies and practitioners in the UK.
Apart from the main programme, hope street also delivers
'Healthy Arts' , a creative healthy living centre for and with young
people.
Working in partnership with local agencies/organisations, Healthy
Arts addresses health issues and problems affecting young people
in the NW, using arts and the media.
Last year hope street also extended its trading
services through Culture Inc., a trading company which comprises
an employment
agency
and offers a range of services that are of benefit to the private,
public, statutory and voluntary sectors.
